2023 YOUNG WOMEN IN PUBLIC AFFAIRS AWARD

The Zonta Club of Frederick supports scholarships to local high schools through the Young Women in Public Affairs Project. The Club presents the winner with a $500 scholarship and then the application is sent on to the district level to compete for a $1000 scholarship.

The goal of the Zonta International Young Women in Public Affairs (YWPA) Program is to encourage more young women to participate in public affairs by recognizing a commitment to the volunteer sector, evidence of volunteer leadership achievements, and a dedication to the advancement of the status of women. Women of age 16-19 who are living or studying in the Frederick area at the time the application is submitted are eligible to apply.

They must demonstrate evidence of the following:

​

         Active commitment to volunteerism

​

         Experience in local or student government

​

         Volunteer leadership achievements

​

         Knowledge of Zonta International and its programs

​

         Advocating Zonta International’s mission of advancing the

         status of women worldwide through service and advocacy

​

JANE M. KLAUSMAN WOMEN IN BUSINESS SCHOLARSHIP

We are currently accepting applications for the Jane M. Klausman Women in Business scholarship. A $500 scholarship is being awarded at the club level and the recipient's application will then be sent on to the district level to compete for further scholarship money.

 

The scholarship is open to women enrolled in at least their second year of an undergraduate program through the final year of a master's program in business leading to a business management career.
